In the age of technological advancement, most people have been using social media worldwide for education, economic and health and so on. As long as the social media are used, some people use them in negative way. On social media, especially on Facebook attacks of online hate speech each other are seen. Hate speech that involves data manipulation, false advertising or online scams can be regarded as violations. According to survey among Myanmar community, the fourth precept seems to be broken when people insinuate, exaggerate or speak abusively or deceitfully. Hate speech is based on the diversity of ideology of politics, belief of religion and diversity of ethnicity. It can be seen that in today’s society complaints are being heard on social network as a result of the speaking harsh speech, senseless speech, useless speech. Buddhists abuse by interacting with each other under the post of the comment section and many commits verbal action in social media wall. Therefore, it is said that the social media is a battlefield where a lot of debate, disputation, quibble, conflict and schism take place. This article highlights the analysis of hate speech from the Buddhist perspective appearing in the Myanmar language and the bad result of using hate speech in social life and to promote an avoidance of hate speech by raising awareness. By presenting it, it is hoped that peaceful and harmonious society will be set up after removing hate speech.
