This paper intends to explain about how Buddhism helps environmental conservation from the Buddhist perspective. Deforestation is a common environmental problem such as ecological disaster, pollution, global warming, earthquake, storms, heavy rain falls, mountains collapses and floods in the current age. Deforestation and forests degradation increase rapidly because human beings neglect the natural environment to achieve their happiness and well-being. It is also found that some people are cutting down the trees and plants for their livelihood. Thus, deforestation becomes the danger of all living beings on the earth. Now it is time to stop deforestation, and to search for the ethical awareness of environmental conservation. It should be noted that the issues of deforestation are associated with loss of one’s behavior or conduct, moral and immoral. In Buddhist ethics, it is suggested to remove greed, hatred, and delusion, and to develop loving kindness and compassion and so on. Hence, Buddhist ethics is very important for all people to the environmental conservation, Buddhism does not neglect deforestation. In fact, The Buddhist ethics can be used for environmental conservation. The Buddha himself prefers forest to city. In this research work, it will be discussed not only to give the awareness of deforestation but also to apply Buddhist ethics to the environmental conservation.
