This paper is all about philanthropic works of nuns in social associations and religion for people. The facts in this paper focus on Myanmar Buddhists’ belief in Sāsanā and the position of nuns, the importance of nun society to the people in social and religious societies, and the views of Myanmar people on nuns. This paper also states what the practices of nuns are, how they react on Dhamma, such as learning, practicing and realizing Dhamma, and views on former and modern nuns. In this paper, there are questions on nuns’ performance of social works and the reason why they turn to social works. The purpose of this paper has four objectives; (1) to know about social works of Myanmar Buddhist nuns, (2) to know how they work in the society of nuns, (3) to raise the role of nuns in social life and (4) to know the duties and responsibilities of a real nun. It also describes the differences between the practice of Dhamma and social works, the types of philanthropy worked now and before, and the true types of philanthropy by asking the question on the true facts of social works. Finally, it describes the biographies of Myanmar famous nuns; how they tried for the dispensation of the Buddha and their works for society and religion.
