People experience Soka, mental sufferings. This analytical study explores the nature, causes, and alleviation of soka in the Pali literature, especially Dhammapada. The study aims to clarify the phenomenon of soka and present effective therapeutic techniques, through The Four Noble Truths. For the core study of the article, the thesis explores fundamental knowledge of soka, psychological impacts through illustrative cases e.g., Paṭācārā story, Kisāgotamī story, and Visākhā story etc., and applies the Four Noble Truths as a Buddhist Psychotherapy method. The main arguments states that soka is common phenomena for everyone rooted in piya, pema, rati, kāma, taṇhā, and so on and as its causes, capable of escalating to severe mental and emotional disturbances. The most effective solution is the Four Noble Truths technique, especially including nonjudgmental acceptance for self-blaming, contemplation of impermanence for grief, severing the fetters of craving, containment of anger, and replacement of unwholesome thoughts. The study finds that soka is a multifaceted phenomenon which can be remedied through understanding, controlling behaviour manner, and mindfulness for the mental peace. The outcome provides a comprehensive, practical guide for alleviating Soka, mental sufferings.
