This study presents an analytical examination of Buddhist financial management and its relevance for basic wage earners in today’s economic environment. With a comparative framework, it explores Buddhist concepts such as right livelihood (sammā-ājīva), contentment (santuṭṭhi), generosity (dāna), mindfulness (sati), and non-attachment (anālaya), alongside modern financial principles like budgeting, savings, risk management, and financial literacy. Drawing from both canonical Buddhist texts and contemporary financial literature, the study employs a qualitative method and textual analysis to identify values that support ethical financial behavior and personal well-being. Findings show that Buddhist teachings provide sustainable and mindful alternatives to materialist financial practices, reducing economic stress and promoting social responsibility. By aligning spiritual discipline with practical financial skills, the paper argues that Buddhist financial management can empower wage earners to make wiser decisions, avoid debt traps, and live within ethical means. The study contributes to Buddhist studies by offering a real-world application of dhamma to modern financial challenges and suggests integrating Buddhist principles into personal finance education for long-term well-being.
