All sentient beings desire to gain calmness on whatever occasion. But, as we all know, today’s world is experiencing significant changes and challenges on account of the advancements in science and technology. Many discoveries and inventions have brought wholesome benefits to humankind. However, as long as the improvements in the science and technology continue, the world will also be faced with a variety of conflicts. Everyone attempts to address the various conflicts from different perspectives in the most effective manner. This paper also aims to reveal the conflict resolution strategies from the Theravāda perspective. Further, the next aim of this study is to formulate the conflict resolution strategies based on the teachings of the Buddha. The area of this present study will concentrate on conflict resolution strategies mainly based on the dual method of Descriptive and Formulation. The former method will be applied to study the existing information related to the title of this thesis as recorded in the Pāḷi canon, its commentaries, Buddhist literature, and scholarly works. The latter method will be engaged in the formulation process for this study.
