The Khaddhakapāṭha is a Theravāda Buddhist Saṃgha Council text in the pāḷi canon which includes in Khaddhaka Nikāya. This study aims to examine an edition with annotated translations of the Khaddhaka-pāṭha, and the nature of historical transmission. The base text of the edition represents Saṃghāyanā whether it is internationally recognized or not in Myanmar. Additionally, annotated translations also did not intend to be literal translations but it can translate unclear and unfamiliar words and letters. As to the study, the position of this paper is a textual study: comparisons and linguistic. The epigraphy and paleography are using the major approach roads to the study. So, this paper had composed of five chapters. Especially, in the fourth chapter, of this dissertation, there are five kinds of sub-title: different words and letters in Khuddakapāṭha, from the perspective of rhetorical ornament, from the perspective of prosody, from the perspective of grammar, and words and letters in respect of evolution of writing style. So that, the core of this dissertation is an edition with annotated translations, including four palm leaves manuscripts, one inscription, and two printed versions. Consequently, the major finding of this study is that different words and letters, the reason why words and letters are different, common mis-spelling in manuscripts, inscriptions, and the original reasons for the common misspelling. Thus, this paper examined the characteristics of each version. In particular, the writing style of the Nyaungyan version have very underlying differences and similarities in the present writing system. Especially, for the historical study of the pāḷi language and literature, the roles of the palm leaves manuscripts are demonstrated indispensably by this dissertation.
