- Abstract
-
Violence against women is a human dignity violation and a major barrier to developing human societies. Violence against women is dependent on the cultural, social, political, economic and religious contexts. Within society, rape, sexual abuse, harassment in education, and intimidation at work or modern slavery, forced prostitution and trafficking are all forms of violence against women. As a weapon of war, some country uses sexual violence. Violence against women ruins not only individual women and young girls but also their families and human society's economic developments. Violence against women ruins individual women and young girl's psychological, physical, socio-economic, and educational growths. According to Buddhist Philosophy, if people want to live harmony, peace and happiness, they should start in public without causing harm to oneself and others by physically and without saying harsh words each other by verbally. Compares oneself with others: "just as I am so are, they, just as they are so am I (Yathā ahaṁ tathā ete, Yathā ete tathā ahaṁ), one should neither harm and kill nor cause others to harm and kill". This study is based on Buddhist Literature with an attempt to reveal Buddhist ethical and socio-ethical perspective on root causes of violence against women and modern point of view on it. In this research, primary data and secondary data were gathered from the book of ''100 cases'' which public from Legal Clinic Myanmar. In the book of ''100 cases'' described the women who had been victims to sexual violence in Yangon division, Mandalay division, Ayeyarwady division, Kachin State and Rakhine State.
