This paper articulates the applied study of Sāraṇīya Dhamma for establishing a welfare society. Here, the word ‘Sāraṇīya’ means what should be reminded to such six kinds of holy teachings (Dhamma) throughout life. ‘Welfare society’ refers to the state that endows with affection, respect, harmony, concord and unity in the society. The primary purpose of this paper is to reveal the role of Sāraṇīya Dhamma in daily life to establish a welfare society and know the representative proportion of Sāraṇīya Dhamma by evaluating the surveyed data. The sources material for this paper mainly deals with the Theravāda canonical texts and data that have been surveyed on the ground. This thesis applies the mixed methods which are called textual and quantitative. The former method, textual, bases on the canonical texts solidly. The later one, quantitative, consists the collecting data from surveying on the ground from the 427 participants in four cities, Monywa, Mandalay, Myintmu and Sagaing city. By touching this paper, enquirers will be getting more aware of the effective role of Sāraṇīya Dhamma to establish a welfare society and will be getting more accurate to inform the right information to the public by checking the surveyed data.
