This qualitative study investigates the environmental conservation practices of Buddhist monks through the lens of Ecological Buddhist Theory. The research problem arises from the growing concern over the degradation of the environment and the potential role of religious communities in addressing this issue. Drawing on existing literature on Buddhism and environmental ethics, this research explores how Buddhist monks perceive and engage in environmental conservation activities within their monastic communities. Utilizing in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, the study uncovers various dimensions of environmental awareness, attitudes, and practices among Buddhist monks. Findings reveal a complex interplay between Buddhist teachings, cultural traditions, and contemporary environmental challenges. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of the intersection between religion, ecology, and conservation efforts, offering insights into the potential of Buddhist teachings to inspire sustainable behavior and contribute to global environmental stewardship.
