Abstract

The dissertation deals with the impact of Mandalay Sāsanā Laṇkāra Examination on the current Buddhist education system in relation with Buddhist religious examinations held by government and other exams throughout the country. Nowadays, most of the people do not know precisely in detail about the Mandalay Pariyatti Sāsanāhita Association and Mandalay Sāsanā Laṇkāra Examination and its impact on Myanmar Buddhist education system in the current age. Sometimes, most of the residents think the two Associations, named Mandalay Malon rice donation Association and Mandalay Pariyatti Sāsanāhita Association are the same. Moreover, they do not know how vital Pariyatti Sāsanā is, how to preserve the Pariyatti Sāsanā and the results and implications of this examination. Mainly, this dissertation is intended to provide the research how to support and protect the Pariyatti Sāsanā, how to relate on other religious exams and the impact of Mandalay Sāsanā Laṇkāra Examination on Buddhist education system in the current situation. As Buddhists know, the Teaching of the Buddha is essential for all living beings. If there were no Pariyatti Sāsanā, there would not exist Buddha Dispensation for a long time. This dissertation presents about the impact of Mandalay Sāsanā Laṇkāra Examination on the current Buddhist education system to know for lay devotees who believe in Buddhism and the activities of monks and novices whose are produced from Mandalay Sāsanā Laṇkāra Examination in the current age. Furthermore, this dissertation shows the connections of Mandalay Sāsanā Laṇkāra Examination and other religious examinations and its impacts and results.
