Pathamapyan education is used as education to maintain Pariyatti Sāsanā. It is accepted that it is the best way to understand and know the main essence of Therevāda teachings in the religious field, and it needs to maintain as traditional Buddhist education. However, current Pathamapyan education system is still often misunderstood among the youths with different attitudes. This thesis is an endeavor to expose the conflict between traditional and modern Buddhist education on the current Pathamapyan education. It also examines the students' attitude toward changing some teaching and learning style and some syllabus and putting some subjects in Pathamapyan education. The thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter One introduces the thesis' background history and significant, its research statement, problem, the views of literature, research objective, scope and methodology, research design and data collection, data analysis and expected results. Chapter two explores the situation of Pathamapyan education in the successive age and discusses current Pathamapyan education and its learning and teaching system along with modern teaching and learning style. Chapter three examines the attitudes of students toward Pathamapyan education and conflicts between the two group; who want to protect the traditional Buddhist education and who want to upgrade the Buddhist education in accordant with the present age. The chapter fourth assesses all problems in this research. The main different thing between these two educations, modern education emphasizes to understand easily Buddhist scriptures, on the other hand, tradition education highlights to protect the original traditional education system.
