The present research work explores Buddhist sociological and psychological happiness based on Sukhavagga of Dhammapada, with an emphasis on ways that Buddhist idea and practice may contribute to the fields of sociology and psychology. Why do people have to face with difficulties, social problems, and suffering even though they pursue happiness? What are stated by Buddhism for sociological and psychological happiness? Next chapter explores happiness relating to society. For sociological happiness, people must reduce selfishness and cultivate some mental qualities such as loving-kindness and compassion, etc. Happiness is a state of mind which is satisfied and glad without anxiety and suffering. The third chapter expresses Buddhist psychological happiness, suffering, and practice to attain the highest happiness of Buddhism. When psychological happiness is studied, happiness will be categorized like mundane happiness and ultimate happiness. Which mundane happiness is blameless and blameworthy? Finally, if possible, the practice to attain ultimate happiness could cover all innocent socio-psychological happiness of Buddhism.
