This research deal with the impact of Māna on human society with special reference to Mānatthaddha Sutta of Saṁyutta Nikāya. In the Mānatthaddha Sutta, the Buddha expounds to a Brahmana, name as Mānatthaddha that there are four kinds of persons who should not be conceited. Nowadays, some young people are lack of respect for the parents, teachers, and elderly persons. Some pupils, neglecting of teachers’ gratitude, are arrogant to the teachers. If someone’s conceit arises, one cannot understand that this is mother, father, teacher, and elder brother, he is older by age, he higher by virtue, and education. He cannot understand how to respect parents, teachers, and elderly persons. For those who conceited on parents and teachers, he or she does not have many friends, and everybody does not want to be associated with him or her. On the other hand, if that person takes conceit on parents, he or she will then be afflicted by the dangerous ailment of pride. The aim of this study intends to one who does not know the gratitude of parents and teachers and one who does not understand the impact of Māna on social life owing to conceited to parents and teachers without respect and humble.
