This paper includes the Buddhist concepts of Education for young generation and teaching approaches including Buddha’s teaching methods and learning methods for the children. The primary purpose of this paper is to highlight Buddhist concept of Education and to clarify the teaching systems and learning systems how to teach and learn systematically according to Buddhist ways. Despite the appearance of scholarly interpretations of Buddha’s Teaching methods that have frequently occurred in the Canonical texts, it has not seen teaching methods that have specialized for the children. The source material for this paper primarily deals with the Pāḷi Canonical texts in the Tipiṭaka (Three Baskets), its commentaries, and its sub-commentaries. To clarify Buddha’s teaching system, this paper requires Canonical interpretations and quantitative methods. This paper divides into three sections: 1. preparations for the teachers and learners, 2. teaching methods, and 3. learning techniques. Among them, the first is to express the Buddhist attitude towards education as preparation for the teacher and the children. The second is to emphasize the teaching methods based on question and example, and while the last one extracts the eight qualities of a learner in Puṇṇiya Sutta with full explanation. The researcher claims that to apply the Buddha’s teaching methods in practice is to obtain a higher level of Education. Also, the research suggests that without knowing the purposes of teaching and learning, the process of teaching and learning cannot be successful or cannot reach the goal. Teaching and learning systems are necessary to for the development of knowledge.
